MILT STUDIOS is a creative space centered on photography, preservation, print, and the development of new work. It is a place for image-making, revisiting archives, producing prints, experimenting with process, and shaping ideas into bodies of work for exhibition and publication.

The studio grew out of a darkroom setup once used to print and preserve the photographs of legendary jazz bassist and photographer Milt Hinton, including his images of Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, and other defining figures of jazz. That connection to photographic craft, archival work, and careful printing continues to inspire the studio today.

Based in Kingston, New York, MILT STUDIOS brings those traditions into a contemporary creative practice.
